Students in the Summer Venture Accelerator Students participated in the Summer Venture Accelerator at the Innovation Center to launch their startup ideas. Yellen, Pritzker, Lightfoot at the IC U.S. Treasury Secretary Janet Yellen, Illinois Gov. J.B. Pritzker and Chicago Mayor Lori Lightfoot toured the Innovation Center, and highlighted the cutting-edge work going on at UIC as a “shining example” of innovation and collaboration. UIC majors merge to solve real-life problems In some classes in the UIC College of Architecture, Design, and the Arts, design students work directly with corporations that partner with the university to solve design problems.
