Assistant Director of Resources and Research Environments
Andy Graham is the Assistant Director of Resources and Research Environments, a Medical Device Lab project lead, and head of prototyping. In this role, Andy ensures that the center’s world-class facility is always ready to support the research efforts of employees and students. As a Medical Device Lab project lead and head of prototyping, Andy works to advance the development of product concepts to the next stage. Andy holds a BA in Graphic Design from DePaul University and a BFA in Industrial Design from the University of Illinois Urbana-Champaign. Andy has been with the Innovation Center since it opened in 2008 and has been integral to its development.
Prior to joining the center, Andy worked at Motorola, which funded the build-out of the Innovation Center, where he played a key role in the design and outfitting of the center. With several years of experience in Motorola’s state-of-the-art prototyping studio and early experiences in graphic design, commercial photography, and scenic carpentry, Andy brings an extensive understanding of fabrication and the digital arts. With 25 years of experience in prototyping and design, Andy continues to push the rapid prototyping capabilities of the Innovation Center, making it one of the most advanced facilities on campus.
