Workshops

Workshops are an essential part of what we do at the Innovation Center. For internal and external departments and organizations, they offer an engaging, hands-on way for participants to learn, create, and collaborate across a variety of disciplines. Designed to spark curiosity and encourage problem-solving, our workshops provide space for people to experiment with new tools, explore ideas, and develop practical solutions—all in a supportive, team-oriented environment.

Each workshop introduces tools and frameworks commonly used in real-world innovation work. Participants will explore topics like design thinking, user experience, rapid ideation and prototyping, stakeholder research, and idea testing—all within the context of collaborative, challenge-based learning. Workshops are interactive, often involving small group activities, discussion, and guided application to sample problems.

Workshop creation and delivery are open to a broad range of organizations, such as UIC entities, corporations, and community partners. Innovation can happen across all, and our workshops are ideal for those exploring entrepreneurship, community impact, creative problem-solving, or working on projects that require cross-functional collaboration.
