The Innovation Center is a collaborative and interdisciplinary team environment. Students gain hands-on experience solving problems through a design thinking process – a structured approach that provides definition to innovation. Our labs focus on social issues, medical devices, digital analytics, machine learning, information design, product design, or service design.

Our labs run year round and students typically work 10 – 15 hours per week during the academic year, and up to 35 hours per week over the summer. Lab teams are typically made up of interdisciplinary groups of engineering, design, business, public health, or medicine graduate and undergraduate students.

We are always looking for curious, motivated students from any discipline to work at the Innovation Center. If you are interested in opportunities at the Innovation Center and we have a position open, send your cover letter and resume to UIC Handshake.
